2026 Interest Form

Teen Tech Launchpad (formerly the Karim Kharbouch Coding Fellowship or KKCF) is a free 6-week summer tech intensive for high school youth. Students explore core tech and digital skills through hands-on learning, build confidence using industry tools, and get support preparing for what’s next, whether that’s internships, work-based learning opportunities, or continued education.

The program is designed for beginners and exploratory learners. Students learn through guided practice, project work, and career readiness activities that help them translate their interests into a next step.

Candidate Profile

Eligibility

Be a resident of New York State, Newark, NJ, Atlanta, GA, Los Angeles, CA, or Washington D.C. - Baltimore Metro Area

Be a current high school sophomore, junior, senior, or actively enrolled in an HSE or credit recovery program.

Proficient oral and written English

Available for the duration of the program.

Qualifications for Success

Commitment

  • 16 class hours per week during the 6-week summer program (plus up to 4 hours per week of optional office hours)
  • 2-3 hours total for the duration of the 6-week summer program for meetings with the student success team

Computer Skills

  • Basic skills, such as using email and organizing files
  • No programming or design experience is required

  • Ability to work independently and in groups

‎Time & Self-Management

  • Effective time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback

Tech assistance to complete coursework. (Based on Need)

Phase I: In-Class Instruction

(6 weeks, ~100 hours)

Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. – Baltimore Metro Area: 
June 16, 2026- July 23, 2026
Tuesday  - Thursday 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM EST (8:00 AM - 11:30 AM PST)
Atlanta will be from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST

New York and Newark: 
July 7, 2026 - August 13, 2026
Tuesday - Thursday 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST

Location: Virtual 
In-class instruction will consist of tech days for technical instruction and practice, and career days for professional skill development.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the Teen Tech Launchpad:

  • Be a New York State, Newark, Atlanta, Los Angeles, or Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area resident.

  • Possess basic computer literacy skills (typing, internet research, email, etc.).

  • Be proficient in written and spoken English.

  • Be available for the duration of the program.

  • Be a currently enrolled high school sophomore, junior, senior, or enrolled in an HSE or credit recovery program.

  • Complete the entire application process:

    • Submit a completed application.

    • Pass a Pre-Assessment.

    • Complete an interview.

Teen Tech Launchpad is a six-week summer program of technical and career instruction.

As a fellow, you may receive the following:

  • Education stipend

  • Tech assistance to complete coursework. (Based on Need)

  • Support pursuing and securing opportunities in STEM such as summer internships, work-based learning opportunities, and admissions to college programs

  • Access to a supportive community of student success specialists, peers, and industry professionals

As a student, you will receive the following:

  • Interview preparation.

  • College preparation and application support.

  • Resume and cover letter assistance.

  • Best practices for establishing a professional presence on LinkedIn. 

  • Networking and communications skills training.

Students will need a laptop and reliable internet access to participate successfully in program activities.
